Every year, the annual cycle of teaching and touring culminates in our intensive retreat, where we celebrate the end of the year by coming together as a community of practitioners and challenging ourselves with three days of fervent practice and learning, surrounded by the serene Appalachian Mountains. Retreatants are empowered into the sacred practice of the Preliminary Cycle, a six-part askesis (spiritual practice) that forms the cornerstone of the first level of training in this tradition and is an important prerequisite for any advanced classes. Attendees will also learn various prayers and spiritual exercises for health, wellbeing, and spiritual protection, all while enjoying spiritual community and a beautiful retreat center. This is traditionally the last public teaching of the year before Christopher retires for personal retreat during the winter. 

This year, we will be returning to the Kanuga Conference and Retreat Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina. We have a mix of shared cottages and both king and queen bed hotel rooms, with commuter options available. Registration ends on October 8. We look forward to seeing you all there!
